John Morgan's Raid during the Civil War; and Biographical Notes on Wisconsin Gov. Jeremiah McLain Rusk and Nebraska Gov. James W. Dawes, both Morgan County natives. GENEALOGY BUFFS will find a list of 1888 county officers and businesses. The Howe history covers the development of this area until about 1890, while excerpts from the WPA book, give a nostalgic glimpse from a 1940 vantage point, including interesting historical notes, especially as they relate to sightseeing possibilities. A 1933 look at the history of newspapers in the county, brief items from a 1941 Ohio history on Lewis Wetzel, Wetzel Rock, Dr. H. L. True, the sage of the county, Dr. James Ball Naylor, Howard Chandler Christy and the Morgan County Courthouse, a map showing the 88 Ohio counties and a map of 1805 Ohio are also included in the booklet.
