Up for sale is a gorgeous authentic NWT HERMÈS La Folle Parade 100% Silk Carre scarf. This whimsical design was created by a young French illustrator Claire Fanjul and issued as part of Spring Summer 2020 collection. The design, which is literally translated from French as “The Crazy Parade,” was inspired by an 18th century engraving depicting a carnival float in Rome. It is titled, featuring Hermès logo, copyright, and the artist’s signature; the edges are hand rolled, and the original Hermès store and care tags are attached. The scarf comes in the original Hermès orange box with tissue paper and Hermès bolduc ribbon. Condition: Brand New with Tags (pristine). The scarf was purchased at the Hermès boutique; it is from a recent Hermès collection and was sold out in this color way at the stores and online. Thank you for your interest! The Story Behind (as copied from the Hermès catalog): This young French illustrator created her first scarf, expressing her whimsical world on silk. This Folle Parade, “an enchanting masquerade straight out of a toy box full of wonders”, was inspired by an 18th century engraving depicting a carnival float in Rome. Humor, fantasy, and a touch of madness emerge from this composition. The float in the center is surmounted by turrets and pulled by a disguised, masked horse. A multitude of strange and humorous tableaux play out around the edges, with wheels, architectural features, masks, tortoises, men with animals’ heads, and jacks-in-the-box all busying themselves, frolicking around in constant motion. **Please note that the last photo on the listing is a stock photo from the Hermes site used to demonstrate the look of the scarf.
