Description: November 22: A Novel by Bryan Woolley (1981) First Ed. Editorial Reviews Book Description Through a myriad of characters both real and invented (and some whose names have been changed) journalist and author Bryan Woolley presents one of the best dissections of Dallas life in 1963 in his novel November 22. Covering the twenty-four hours surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Woolley accurately captures the essence of the day’s atmosphere, resulting in a rich cross section of a city more complex and diverse than many observers have been willing to acknowledge. He describes in microcosm how the world changed in the twinkling of an eye and peers into the shifting lives of all people affected by this shattering event. Readers will be surprised at how relevant the book is to the Dallas—and America—of right now. Review: Dallas as it was!!! I didn't get to Dallas until many years after the assassination, so I know nothing about the political environment of the time. But that makes the reading of Wooley's book very interesting. The hatred of the then president is mirrored in today's society also. I think that you could find cities today with influential people who appear to have the same angry full of hate attitudes and perhaps the same kind of agenda: to get rid of the object of their hatred. Perhaps we should hear the man crying in the wilderness and take heed of what is happening in today's society. One can too easily imagine a repeat performance. May wiser heads prevail. May we use the ballot box instead of relying on the crazies to change things ( if we are seeking change.) A thought provoking book that focuses on a handful of citizens affected by world shaking events instead of focusing on the famous participants. The book is in a good used condition. The dust cover is slightly damaged on the edges. · Please be serious about your bids. Checkout must be completed within 7 days of the close of auction.
