This spur is for the #978 plane, which is the #078 plane made after 1984, when it was no longer made in the USA. It is slightly larger in spur length, diameter and thickness and will not fit the pre-1984 #78 planes. Please see the pictures for further information on this. Normally I would list all the other Stanley planes that this spur works on, but that research will be up to the buyer to determine if it is what you want to buy.
