Description: This is an NOS EMD data or specification card given away to the public back in the 1940's and 1950's. This example is for the Clinchfield Railroad, road number 911. Back in that time period, most companies used illustrators to create most of their artwork. EMD was no exception. The problem became what to do with all of these beautiful paintings that were just laying about. The idea, create these data cards, pocket calendars, and nice sized posters that promoted their product. This is the rare exception where you find a new old stock data card. I purchased these from an EMD retiree who was given the remainder of these cards by their Public Relations Department back in the 1970's. I have also undertaken a huge project scanning my entire collection into an archive that I have listed separately. I will ship this the USPS for $5.50. I like to put cardboard around my paper products and that adds weight. It also prevents me from using an envelope that the PO runs through their sorting machines (puts nice creases in things). I have a very large collection of these cards. If you wish to purchase multiple cards, please place them into your shopping cart and request an invoice. I will be happy to combine shipping. Also, if you collect these and are missing a particular card, let me know and I'll check to see if I have a spare.
