Description: 3409-2023) Northern Side Notch made of a clear smoky tinted gray and black flow banded gem Glass Buttes obsidian. It measures at 2 ¼” x ¾” x 3/16”. This ultra-fine specimen has a mix of oblique parallel and collateral bifacial pressure flaking along with tertiary edgework. The basal margin is slightly indented giving a Fox Ear like form and the tip is elongated and mucronate. Condition is mint with at least one ancient resharpening resulting in some blade edge beveling, G9+ Quality arrowhead. The stone is well patinated with onion skin and alkali lake mineral deposits as would be expected for a Crump Lake, Lake County, Oregon surface find. Was found by D. A. Hunter while searching private property during the 1940-60’s, x Hank Johnson, Miguel Hughes Collections.
