Description: These hard-to-find adapters were included in a tooling lot I purchased. I'm listing them because my milling machine has a NMTB 30 spindle and I have no R8 collets or toolholders. These adapters allow the use of R8 collets, end mill holders or other tooling in machines that have NMTB spindles. At the bottom of the R8 inner taper portion is a captive hex bolt that substitutes for the R8 spindle drawbar. That hex bolt is tightened/loosened through the NMTB 30 drawbar threads. I have not tested the R8 portion of these adapters due to a lack of R8 tooling in my shop, but the NMTB 30 outer portion properly fits the NMTB 30 spindle on my Index 847 vertical milling machine and cinches up tight with its standard 1/2-13 drawbar. I can find no markings of any sort on the adapters, including who the manufacturer might be.
