Description: Estate FindFrenchGiltDecoratedRococo Rose Bowl We offer a French gilt decorated Rose Bowl in the shape of a round purse with a ruffled collar. The vase is attributed to the Saint-Louis or Legras glassworks in France and dates to the second half of the nineteenth century.The glass has widely spaced ribbing and is painted with gilt Rococo scrollwork over gilt floral sprays in the Japanese style of the time.The vase is mouth blown glass with minor air bubbles and a polished pontil scar on the base.The Rose Bowl weighs 4 pounds 1.9 ounces and measures 7 3/4” in height with a diameter of 8 1/2”. The width at the top ruffle measures 9 1/4”.There is minor rubbing to the gilt trim along the upper rim and there are surface scratches on the underside of the base appropriate with age and usage.The French Rococo Rose Bowl is presented in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
