The second best thing about this print is the condition. It looks like it just rolled off the press. I doubt there’s a nicer copy out there. This is one of Nick Trudgian’s most difficult print to find! Small edition of 500. Sold out years ago. The best thing about this print is, of course, the remarque. The detail is incredible. I don’t think you’ll find a higher quality single remarque from Nick. Kurt Schade was Hartmann’s Staffel Leader until he was taken prisoner by the Soviets. Hartmann replaced him as Staffel Leader. Walter Wolfrum flew as Barkkhorn’s wingman on several occasions, as well as sharing the skies with Hartmann, as did Rall on occasion. Heading back from the Eastern Front, a German armored column comes under attack from Russian La-7’s as it files past a frozen Lake Balaton in Hungary, November 1944. Luftwaffe fighters from JG52 have been called in, and the Me-109Gs of Erich Hartmann and Gerhard Barkhorn – the only two pilots ever to score more than 300 air victories – are seen driving off the attacking Russian aircraft.
