After close to 1,000 written stories and several movies, Nick Carter made his appearance on radio in 1943. The series ran until 1955. Carter was played by Lon Clark while his assistant Patsy Bowen (who was a man in the dime novels) was portrayed by Helen Choate until mid-1946 when Charlotte Manson took the role. Nick Carter was a methodical investigator. In the epilogue of each episode, he explains what each clue meant and how they connected together.
