Printed by the American Bank Note Company of New York, on relatively heavy weight, white wove paper with horizontal mesh, white (almost colorless) gum. This very popular issue includes some of the finest engraved stamps ever produced, anywhere. Very good color and crisp appearance. Approximately 25% of original gum disturbed by previous hinging, hinge remnant. Sound, fault-free example of this Newfoundland stamp.. The 2023 edition of the Walsh Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue values this stamp at $60.00 USD for an example in mint, never-hinged condition.
