You can certainly save a few bucks buying third party belts and, assuming the seller provides the correct length the deck will work, however the route to good wow and flutter and tape-head contact includes OEM belts that are the correct length, width and thickness, OEM or well remanufactured pinch rollers (not tires) and thorough cleaning and lubrication. I stock these for my own servicing business and find that they save time and money by providing confidence that any issues are not due to a belt that perhaps isn't the right thickness / stiffness.
