In GOODBYE RADAR, PART ONE (Air Date: Oct. 8, 1979), Radar is on leave in Tokyo, though desperately needed back at the crisis stricken 4077th. As Radars temporary replacement, Klinger attempts — with little success to order a replacement for the camp's busted generator. Upon his return, Radar learns of the death of his Uncle Ed and receives orders to head home. Then in GOODBYE RADAR, PART TWO (Air Date: Oct. 15, 1979), the camp's generator is still down and the operating room continues to fill up with wounded. In his last official act as company clerk, Radar ingeniously devises a way to keep the O.R. functioning. Radar departs amid much sadness, leaving his teddy bear behind. And finally in PERIOD OF ADJUSTMENT (Air Date: Oct. 22, 1979), getting used to life without Radar is difficult for all concered. Klinger is clearly not up to the demands of the job; the rest of the camp is complaining about Klinger; and news of Radar's visits with his family make B.J. seriously homesick.
