This rail allows you to mount a red dot optic or scope to your rifle. It will fit round barrel Rossi R92, Heritage 92, and LEVTAC lever action models with the 4 factory rail mounting holes in the top of the barrel under the rear buckhorn sight. This rail has a front ramp to accommodate an optional adjustable peep sight as shown in the pictures. The peep sight is available separately in our other listings if you already own this rail, or you can purchase the rail with the peep sight also in our other listings. NOTE - this rail is designed to screw down to the top of the barrel with the special 4 included 6-48 threaded screws. The threaded holes are located on the top of the barrel of most Rossi and Heritage models under the factory installed rear buckhorn sight behind the sight mounting dovetail. See the listing pictures. Some older Rossi models may not have these holes and therefore will not accept this rail. Always check before buying! Look under your factory buckhorn rear sight for 4 threaded holes. We cannot ship outside of the U.S. and its territories. MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS:Dry fit the rail and mounting screws first to confirm fitment. The rail should fit tight against the barrel with the screws only lightly tightened. If the rail is mounted with the screws fully seated and there is still space between it and the barrel (loose fit), please read below*. If the dry fit is good, remove the rail, use blue loctite and tighten the screws fairly snug with the included allen wrench but Do Not over tighten. If you are using a torque measuring driver, snug to 18 in.- lbs. * We hear from about 1 in 10 buyers that when the 4 installation screws are tightened all the way down there is still a very small gap between the rail and barrel top, causing a slightly loose fit. We can assure you this is not a defect in the rail itself. Rossi drills the barrel holes deep enough but has been inconsistent in how deep they thread the holes.
