Product Description: Here is another extremely rare item...a new-old-stock (NOS) Suntour Accushift Plus 7-speed cassette (Model CS-AP00-S7U) that includes a 12-13-14-15-16-17-19 cluster and weighs in at only 190 grams (which is probably as light as any Suntour cassette or freewheel we have ever stocked). These models were Suntour's top-of-the-line offering in the early 90's for 7-speed cassettes (around the 1990 and 1991 time period). Because of the narrower gear range, they were primarily marketed with their top-end road bike components (i.e., the Suntour Superbe Pro and Sprint groups). These cassettes are index (or as Suntour used to call it, "Accushift Plus") shifting capable. Also, please note this is a cassette (and not a freewheel), and it will only work with a Suntour splined hub (and will not work with any threaded rear hubs or Shimano's more popular splined hubs, as the splines are different sizes). The freehub spacing (locknut-to-locknut) for these cassettes is generally going to be 126 mm. However, please be careful here in regards to spacing, as Suntour also made road bike freehubs during this period with the same locknut-to-locknut dimensions for it's 6-speed cassettes...and the two are not interchangable as best as we can tell, as they have different widths (even though the 7-speed cassette does use narrower spacers...the overall width is still wider than the regular spaced 6-speed version). It also appears, from our references, that Suntour offered a 130 mm road bike freehub during this era (the very early 90's), but it was only compatible with the 7-speed cassette. Having said all of the above, we also measured the "stack height" (for lack of a better term) of this cassette and noted it to be about 32 mm (using our digital calipers). We thought this additional measurement would help ensure compatibility, should you want to measure the width of the intended splined freehub body and compare it to our measurement. As for condition, these cassettes are new-old-stock (retail boxed) and show no signs of ever having been mounted (and no wear on the teeth).
