Description: Hello, for sale is a cast-concrete basin. It is new and was never installed. It was made in the U.K. by KAST. The model is “Nilo.” If you check the KAST website, you can see that there are three different versions of the Nilo basin; this is the classic one with soap tray cutout ( “N.A1”). The color is “Duck Egg,” a light bluish green. I am an architect and I used a basin identical to this one when I renovated my home bathroom. It looks cool and has been admired by many people. One admirer was my brother. When we were planning his bathroom renovation, he decided to use the same basin. We ordered it some months before his project was set to commence because KAST basins are made to order and have a long lead time. The basin arrived but the project did not proceed due unforeseen circumstances. I am listing it for sale because neither I nor my brother nor I has a near-term use for it. In the photos you can see that underside of the basin has a rough texture. This is not a defect, it is just the way it is, based on how the basin is made. (The underside faces up when concrete is poured into the mold and this is the result, since the "top" surface does not contact the mold.) I thought I should mention this, for those who aren't familiar with the products. I have included the last photo as references. This shows the identical basin installed in my bathroom. Mounting brackets are not included in this listing but can be purchased from KAST. Having used KAST’s mounting brackets when I installed the same kind of basin in my apartment, my contractor and I concluded that the KAST OEM brackets aren’t really necessary. (My contractor said he would prefer to use ordinary brackets.) In place of the KAST brackets, one can use heavy-duty steel corner brackets (a.k.a., “L-brackets” or “countertop supports”). Please consult your contractor on this point. As stated above, the basin for sale is in new condition and is free from blemishes. It was never installed and was handled carefully. I have packed it very securely with multiple layers of blankets, cardboard, and other padding to ensure a safe delivery. Pickup in person is possible if you wish to avoid the shipping cost. The list price for a new Nilo A.1 basin is $2,285 plus $480 for shipping to the USA. (Total: $2,765.) These basins are well made and look great but on the other hand are very expensive and have a long lead time… You'll probably never see another one in unused condition pop up on eBay.
