This is the only BRITISH WATER BOTTLE issued by the MOD to the Military & British Troops.ONLY OSPREY MAKE THE GENUINE ORIGINAL MOD/NATO WATER BOTTLE "OSPREY" The brand OSPREY is marked on the front of the Mug & Bottle parts. ALL OTHERS BOTTLES are copies and not dated. The genuine bottle also has a NATO No. marked on it.Copies, fakes and imports tend to be up to half the price, are on not marked with "OSPREY" nor the official NATO stock number. Yes i also sell imported bottles from BCB BUT no one will say that the genuine Osprey is not worth the extra.WHY PAY MORE FOR THE GENUINE OSPREY ??The 58 pattern Osprey Bottle & Mug how much BETTER THAN THE FAKES, COPIES or IMPORTS = It was designed in 1958 and there has been no reason to re-design it in the last 60 years.They are far better built in a stronger heavier construction that will last for ever if looked after. Both the bottle and mug are made to a higher quality so for example if you drop an Osprey Bottle there will be no problem. However drop a full copy bottle and it may split open and leak. British made Osprey are 340/360 grams where as a China copy will be 240-260 grams. Totally secure water cap unlike the cheap copies that tend to leak. Bottle will fit snugly and far better in to the BCB crusader cooking mug and not rattle around like the standard copy bottles. Copies are a little smaller, tend to leak and are made of a lower grade plastic & will not last as long & will be damaged from dropping etc. The Osprey is the standard issue to UK forces for 60+ years its a great quality, heavy duty, hard wearing plastic bottle that holds a litre (2 pints) with a mug that holds 500ml (1 pint).
