Each pair comes in a box with 2 nails for each tip used for attaching to the welt of the boot. Attachment: The taps on the boot plates measures about an 1/8 of an inch. The plates attach to the welt of your boot. To attach tips, first place them on the boot snugly and make a small indent (in the welt) for placement of the nails.
