Description: NETSUKE MASK “Ōkina kuchi” carved in solid British sycamore HAND MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN USING ONLY NATIVE BRITISH HARDWOODS Offered in this sale is a completed netsuke mask carved from solid hardwood depicting “Ōkina kuchi” . The mask was cut from a piece of seasoned sycamore with the grain running from top to bottom to give maximum strength. It has been left in its natural state and given several coats of varnish. Dimensions are approximately: Height - Top of head to bottom 54 mm or approximately 2 inch Width of mask at the widest point is 49 mm, or approximately 1.9 inch depth - Tip of nose to back 25 mm, or approximately 1 inch Each mask is individually carved and finished by myself here in Great Britain from native hardwoods. I do not make anything using resin. I will use the basic design again but no other mask will ever be the same as this one.
