There is much interesting reading on Honu out there if you are interested. This necklace includes Aventurine and Bayong Wood beads with Paua Shell and Bayong wood inlay. What is Bayong Wood? Bayong wood is a hardwood similar to mahogany that comes from the Philippines. Paua is abalone shell. The creation of these necklaces stopped in 2010, and this piece is from the 1980's. Each of the necklace strands measures 9.5 inches long. The turtle measures 2.675 inches high and 2.25 inches wide from front flipper to front flipper. The condition is very nice.
