He has undertaken extensive training in church consultancy and is accredited by his denomination as a consultant. Alan has trained in conflict resolution through several organisations in Australia and the United States.Alan practised as a lawyer (solicitor) for nearly 30 years. He has acted as a Christian mediator, consultant and trainer in conflict resolution in churches, Christian schools, mission organisations and para-church ministries for the past 20 years.Throughout his life, Alan has held many leadership roles, including membership of the pastoral leadership team and an elder in his church; board and committee member in his church and denomination; managing partner role in his law practice; director for a number of Christian organisations, including national, state and local board roles in Habitat for Humanity Australia.
