N scale U.S. Coast Guard 95 Foot Cutter ship boat unpainted w decals military

Description: After World War II, the Coast Guard began to replace their aging wood hulled 83 footers with a new cutter. The Cape Class 95 footer. This boat was designed with anti submarine warfare in mind and early versions were equipped with hedgehog rockets and depth charges. There were 3 variants and we've included parts that should allow the modeler to model any of the variants at different times in service. The type A was the anti submarine version followed the the type B which was geared for Search and Rescue duties. The C has an additional cabin behind the stack and was also primarily a Search and Rescue boat. USCG did not name boats under 100 feet until 1964 when these boats became the Cape Class. The racing stripes were added in 1967. One of the boats I've included decals for is the Cape Knox. I have pictures of this boat from the bow and stern shot in two different places at 2 different times. The first was at the base in Charleston SC when the Cape Knox was based there for a time. The second was few years later when the boat was tied up at the cruise ship terminal in Nassau Bahamas in the mid 1980's. Needless to say, I can't find the pictures anywhere. The Cape Knox was a type C and was somewhat of a movie star having been in a shot of my favorite James Bond film, Thunderball. This was the pre racing stripe USCG. If you'll check the pictures the boat looks kind of Rube Goldburgish with all the ASW and rescue gear but it shows what can be done with this model. This is a waterline model and would look great with some of other USCG models we have available. . If you have harbor operations on your layout, then you need this U.S. Coast Guard 95 foot cutter Cape Class patrol boat. Some assembly and painting required.
