Description: Museum Quality Fossil Unidentified Extinct Flowering Angiosperm Plant Brazil Cretaceous Age over 100 million years old You are bidding on a 113-million year old Cretaceous-age fossil of an unidentified extinct ancient flowering plant (early Angiosperm type of plant) from the Crato Formation of northeast Brazil, an area famed for its exquisitely preserved fossils. While fossil insects and fish from Brazil are more common, fossil plants like this are hardly ever available for sale and very scarce. Try to find another like this, and you may appreciate how rare it is ! Museum quality item ! The fossil is well-detailed, on a rectangular plate suitable for framing. The plate is slightly larger than 14” x 8”. The plate is narrow and flat, only about ½” thick The plate has 4 filled drilled holes (one in each corner) which are better seen from the reverse side, and were once used to screw it directly onto the wall for display décor. On the front side, the 4 drill holes have since been filled-in with extra matrix dust and glue, which could easily be re-drilled through if desired for mounting purposes. The item was originally acquired at eBay in 2007 Type: unidentified Angiosperm species From: Crato Formation Locality: Ceara Province, Araripe Basin, Brazil Age: Lower Cretaceous, Aptian stage, 113 million years Size: about 14” x 8” x ½”, weight 73 oz; has 4 drill holes
