Description: Absolutely Stunning Original Matching Pair of Vintage c1950s Mid Century Hand Blown Murano Art Glass Sparrows or Sea Birds in Flight! After Much Research and Discussion with Murano Collectors, Historians, and Master Glass Blowers alike, the Definitive Artist is Still Unclear. What all parties involved have agreed on is that these were likely produced by Camer Glass, deriving from Camerino - owners of Salviati, directed by Livio Seguso. Research based attributions have led to these being created by either Alfredo Barbini, Archimede Seguso, or Elio Raffaeli. All 3 of whom were notable Glass Maestros working with Camer Glass at the time. While there is information to back each of the attributions including the conflicting opinions of Livio Seguso and Giovanni Nicola, I will leave it up to you as the buyer to make your own judgement. All that I can say for sure is that these are Beautiful!! Hand Blown Aventurine and Gold Flecks Art Glass Swallow Birds in Flight. Circa 1950s. The form seems to have been taken right out of an Audubon book. The birds are attached to gold flecked pedestals. They shimmer in any light and from any side, since the bottom of the birds are also covered in gold leaf. One of the birds appears to be in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The other bird unfortunately has one chipped wing tip, however that appears to be the only damage and everything else looks to be in wonderful original condition. Depending on how you position and angle the one damaged bird - you can hardly tell the wing is chipped when displayed! Please view all photos for best idea of condition. Please note that the one chipped wing tip has been disclosed and photographed and these are being sold as is. It is very rare to find an original matching pair of these. One bird measures 8 1/2” long x 8” tall x 4” wide. The other bird measures 8” long x 6 3/4” tall x 4” wide. They will be carefully packaged. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground.
