MAGIC GURU Cards were included in a GURU PROGRAM BOOKLET that contained a sheet of MTG GURU REFERRAL CARDS (9 cards in total) with both a Right & Left Edge, Bottom & Top and Center Cards Also included in the GURU PROGRAM BOOKLET were sequentially numbered LABELS that were to be stuck on the back of the cards that you were redeeming and mailed into Wizards Of The Coast for free booster packs and the now infamous unique basic land cards also known as - (GURU LANDS) Because of the nature of both card redemption ( mailing in of referral cards thus retiring that specific referral card ) and the exclusivity ( it’s estimated that there were less than 10k of the booklets printed ) in addition to extremely short time this program was made available ( about 18 months ) …makes these MAGIC GURU cards ULTRA RARE additions to your MTG Collectable Collections… “ Go Guru . The cards are with you “ Information about GURU LANDS: One of the highest rewards for qualified guru’s from this program was redeeming points for one of the 5 basic lands known as GURU LANDS . The ARTWORK for these five unique basic lands were all created by TERESSE NIELSEN after being commissioned by WOTC to not only create but also elevate the artwork for basic lands which is the lifeblood ( mana ) of Magic The Gathering. The illustrations depict the phases of a double eclipse transitioning through each of the land cards beginning with plains and ending with swamps. For inspiration the artist utilized sources from scientific diagrams, old styled medical illustrations and ancient maps. The original Art was painted with acrylic, hints of colored pencil and gold leaf. These are considered some of the most unique and most sought after lands available in MTG.
