Description: Published in 1922 by Longmans, Green and Co., NY. See photos. MISSING MAP #1 of 3 ("Map to illustrate the route of the Mount Everest Expedition; Scale 1/750,000). Other 2 maps in great condition - 2nd map has ~2 inch rip down 2nd crease (see photo) and some staining on back. Boards - light shelfwear and staining/discoloration; corners of front boards bending inward. Description of book glued to inside of back board. Rubbing on edges. Fabric ripped and fraying at top/bottom of spine. Hinges starting, first board splitting from text block, attached by webbing other than top and bottom ~0.5-1 in. Back hinge ~1.5 in crack on top, gutter paper ripped, but attached elsewhere. Pages are toned and lightly-moderately foxed throughout - foxing is greatest closest to edges of text block. No pages or photos appear to be missing. Binding in good shape - some widening in the gutters in spots but mostly tight throughout.
