Description: Motorized Optical OD Filter Wheel,8 Position,1/2",Faulhaber Stepper,Laser,660nm 2 inch diameter, 8 position optical filter wheel made by Melles Griot for a large biotech company. This was used in a fluorescence microscopy instrument with a 660nm excitation laser. The unit has a fixed 658/10 bandpass filter and 8 ND filters ranging from open to fully blocked. The wheel is attached to a FAULHABER® PRECIstep® AM1524, 15 mm dia. stepper motor. These are 4 wire bipolar steppers with a native 24 steps per revolution. The attached 16A type 11.9:1 gearhead reducer increases the resolution to 285.6 steps per revolution and also improves the torque. The motor can easily be extracted for standalone use.
