The cover of this program features a scene from THE FATAL CARD starring JOHN MASON and HAZEL DAWN. The first inside page promotes The Fatal Card, a Western feature film. The film was based on a play by B.C. Stephenson and C. Haddon Chambers, which was produced on Broadway in 1894-1895. The following page promotes the movie ZAZA starring PAULINE FREDERICK, billed as "The Supreme Emotional Actress." See photos! The Stanley Theatre was located near 16th and Market Streets, Philadelphia, PA. The program advertises the theatre as "Absolutely Fireproof" and "Constructed of Steel and Concrete" with twenty exits. The program is printed on a single sheet of paper measuring about 9" x 12 5/8", folded in half to make four pages, each measuring about 9" x 6 1/4". Condition is nice as shown in photos. The program is not folded evenly. There is a slight, flattened dogear at the top right-hand corner of pages 3-4. John Mason (1858-1919) also starred in the Libertine (1916) and The Reapers (1916). Hazel Dawn (born Henrietta Hazel Tout, 1890 – 1988) was an American stage, film and television actress, and violinist. She was born to a Mormon family in Utah, and studied music in Europe. Dawn rose to fame as a stage actress in Ivan Caryll's 1911 Broadway production of The Pink Lady, which ran for over 300 performances. She performed extensively on Broadway and began work in film in 1914, appearing in a total of 13 feature films. Pauline Frederick (born Pauline Beatrice Libbey, 1883 – 1938) was an American stage and film actress. For her contribution to the motion picture industry, Pauline Frederick has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard. This program is suitable for framing.
