She will grab the eye & heart of anyone who loves great art. "TRUTH SEEKER" was a sculpture created by Greek Artist Tossos Syntelis. This is a great size for display. at almost 23" high, it is big enough to make a bold statement, but not so large as to overwhelm a space. Would be a great piece for an entry foyer, den, office or other. Looks to be in excellent condition, with just a tiny scuff or two we could see on the base. There may be some other minor imperfections or touch ups from her 52 years. We acquired from an estate sale along with other nice artworks and other. Most other sales of this work have indicated it is a plaster or plaster/synthetic mix, but we are not 100% sure. As noted in the video it really sounds metallic when tapped and it is hollow, so we are not 100% sure of its exact casting, but most likely it is a ceramic plaster of some kind. The COA card states that Austin Productions produced items in stone, bronze, wood, metal and terracotta & we know it is not wood, bronze or stone. In any case it is simply wonderful. Tassos Syntelis did a number of sculptures that Austin Productions distributed in the same era as noted on the COA card (see last picture in photo gallery). This seems to have been a more popular one. It was #1539 from their catalog. Syntelis was a Greek artist born in 1943, per the COA card he graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Athens, Greece in 1967 with honors in the field of engraving and mosaics. Awarded Silver Medal in Art Exhibit in Rome 1964. He worked in metals, wood cuts, etching, painting and stained glass. Other information can be found online. When researching this item, we found at least half of the statues had no artist name assigned to them or incorrect ones, some had no titles and almost none has the original COA card with it. We provided all that we could on this and are pricing in line with 2 eBay sales of $395 & $400. Let us know if you have questions. We will tight fit pack this item in Styrofoam after clean wrapping in soft paper and heavy bubble wrap. We will do everything possible to prevent damage in shipping (so far, we have only had one item harmed in over 2000 shipped & delivered, knock on wood). If you are within 100 mile of Indianapolis, we will meet you halfway for free for a hand delivery if you prefer. She seems pretty solid but wanted to make that offer. Of course, it will be fully insured & photo'ed as packed before shipping. Please Note: We photograph & video artwork in different light settings to try and capture a painting, sculpture or other artwork's look in different settings. Therefore there may be some variations in color from one picture to another. The photos are not altered but sometimes we use a highlight feature to bring out craft lines in sculptures like this piece. This sculpture was a bit tougher to capture as it was a brown/black, so we tried to catch every angle we could for you. Also, videos tend to shoot a little darker than actual appearance. Also, we try to note any visible defects we can see but there may be wear or imperfections we miss. Please view all pictures taken for your consideration and use zoom feature if needed. Likewise, you can always notify us with questions. Please Read: All items above $100 will require signature upon delivery unless you request otherwise, so please plan accordingly. Also, we have discounts with FedEx & eBay on shipping which do not always show up in eBay estimates on shipping. We try to refund what we can when there is a notable difference, but we do not know until we actually process the shipping order. See our Feedback & Buy with confidence. We ship with extreme care & all items are fully insured! We often take from 30-90 minutes packing more delicate & odd sized items to make sure your treasure is protected. We also photograph most items above $100 while packing in case a shipper were to ever damage an item (only 1 time in over 2,000 US shipped sales). For this reason, if an item is ever damaged, it will be the Buyer's responsibility to file a claim with the shipping service and we can provide photos from packing to assist Buyers. The process is not difficult, but the timing of such does not allow adequate time for the item to be returned to us and then for us to proceed with a claim (chain of custody questions can arise as well on returned items due to double shipping and handling so it is just easier for Buyers). So again, as noted in listing, we do not offer returns. Sales tax is charged according to your state or country's regulations. Of course, there is free local pick up and we can meet to assist if you are near Indianapolis or driving through. We do this often.
