Description: Civil War Store Card for John Frank's Dairy in Mill Creek Township, OhioFuld OH557A-2a (copper) R-7 NGC MS-64 RB Rare Dairy Token and Among Finest KnownThe Frank family owned a dairy in Mill Creek Township. John Frank, the dairyman on this store card, inherited the dairy from his father around 1863. Store card tokens were prepared by Cincinnati token maker John Stanton. A single custom die was used in combination with five dairy-themed stock dies advertising various quantities of milk: one half pint, one pint, one quart, one half gallon, and one gallon. John Frank may have decided not to use these tokens for business purposes because these tokens are normally encountered in uncirculated grades and all varieties are rare. This token was in the collection of Steve Tanenbaum as noted on the slab label. The Tanenbaum collection of Civil War tokens was one of the highest quality collections ever assembled. This token is a high quality and attractive specimen of the one pint variety that retains much of the original red color. The surfaces are sharp struck and exhibit cartwheel luster.Shipping is free. Should this token fail to meet your expectations, it can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Sales tax, if applicable, is collected by Ebay and submitted directly to state authorities. We appreciate your business!
