Mexico highway 1 extends all the way down the Baja California peninsula, starting in Tijuana and ending up all the way in Cabo San Lucas. It extends for over 1200 miles through two states: Baja California, and Baja California Sur. the route was built in the 1930s, numbered to highway 1 in the great renumbering in 1945, and paved completely by 1973. An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. Most of them have vanished from the back roads of Mexico many years ago, replaced with the modern issue. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without paying an arm and a leg on the collector's market. The sign is 247 by 330 millimeters, and weighs 2 lb. 11 oz.
