Description: The Metzler & Ortloff Porcelain Factory was located in Ilmenau, Thuringia, Germany. They were in business from 1873 until 1976. Their decorative porcelain wares are still sought after by collectors today. This reclining Borzoi is one of their miniature models, which are quite outstanding given their diminutive size. It features beautiful modeling and detail, and lovely decoration. The figurine bears the company hallmark under the belly and is impressed with the model number, and is also stamped Germany.
