Description: This is handmade, homemade machine sewn reproduction of an 18th century open front hunting shirt. It is made of light-weight homespun cotton fabric in a burnt orange color. It has no ties or buttons. These open front shirts were historically worn over another closed front shirt (and possibly a vest and neckerchief) and usually closed with a sash or belt (not included). Keep in mind when figuring the size that the front needs to overlap enough to be comfortably closed. Historical details include a loose and long fit, neck gussets, underarm gussets and a fringed hem. Museums contain shirts of a similar construction dating to the 1500s. Neck: 20.5" Length: 38"Width: 60" around middle when measured with an 8" front overlapFrom center of neck to end of sleeve: 38"Sleeve: 21" around If this is your size, but you are considerably under 6 feet tall you may wish to ask me to shorten the shirt and sleeves for you (for free) or buy it as such an shorten them yourself to be sure of the best length. Please ask questions if needed. If you are looking for a similar style 18th century shirt with specific features (ie cuffs) or fabric for a rendezvous, revolution, civil war, mountain man or fur trapping event, LARP, any kind of reenactment, or just to wear in your daily life, I might be able to make what you need. I hope that you will be very happy with your new shirt and not want to return it which costs both of us time and money. However, I do accept returns in 14 days if it really isn't what you wanted, the buyer will pay return shipping.
