MEL BOCHNER - “UNIQUE, VERY RARE!!!” - "FOUNDATIONS OF THESAURUS"

Description: Here we have a SENSATIONAL and UNIQUE VERY VERY rare find. This magnificent piece of art by much sort after Artist Mel Bochner (b.1942-). The painting features the alphabet in capital letters on a black background. The artist has produced it as part of his Thesaurus Series and he titled this painting “FOUNDATIONS OF THESAURUS" What makes this unique is that the artwork has never been scene in public Bochner painted it for Achim Burchardt - Hume. Hume was Tate Modern’s director of exhibitions and programmes, demonstrated his scope in organising and introducing exciting contemporary artists to the general public and launching their careers. This was a gift for the help given to Bochner in developing his career and helping him holding exhibitions at Whitechapel Gallery, London 2012 Mel Bochner: If The Colour Changes and calibrated on 2020 Mel Bochner: Measurements (1968–1971), Dia Art Foundation, New York. This artwork is believed to have been hung in a property that Hume own in Austria where this was purchased as part of his deceased estate a few years ago, after his sudden death at 56 in 2021. The family having sold off the contents of the property in late 2022 to 2023. This has been in storage here in the UK ever since. This painting is such a sort after piece it could be said that it is priceless. Prints for this artist sell from £30,000-£100,000. So this has to be acquired by any serious contemporary art collector.
