It doesn't need to be turned into the soil, however, working it into the soil will help amend to deeper levels than just spreading it on top. My frass isn't pure as the driven snow and may contain whole or parts of dead mealworms or darkling beetles, all great for your soil. I suppose that it's organic since this is from nature. My bugs are fed wheat bran, carrots and water. So yes, my frass is organic. There's nothing man made or unnatural included. I've read that frass has an NPK value of 2-3-2.
