This Auction is for a Wonderful, ULTRA RARE, Highly Stylized MCM 1950s era BOOMERANG Lamp Produced By "MAJESTIC" Lamp Co., NYC A Fantastical BOOMERANG form, hand crafted from Ebonized masonite pegboard is positioned on an angular slant by a tubular, solid brass Hairpin style coil w/ brass ball feet. 6 solid brass balls graduating in size attached to the boomerang appear suspended by jute cord radiating from a central brass ball on stem below the central arc, giving it a VERY Space age appearance. The original two tier fiberglass shade with solid brass Ball Finial appears almost like a Flying Saucer above this base. This incredible lamp has an amazing Sculptural appeal as it appears different at all angles!!!!! Our photos unfortunately don't do it justice, MUCH more beautiful in person!!! The wire and plug appear to have been replaced at some point and are in great working order!!! This ULTRA RARE example, Obtained directly from the original owners home who acquired it in the mid 1950s as a wedding gift, was much loved for decades since. {This brief history of Original acquisition was shared to us from the heirs.} As you know Majestic Lamp Co., was located on the upper east side of NYC at 134 th. They were Experts in their craft and made some of the finest quality lamps from the 1950s through early 60's, MANY of the forms created were Futuristic, Fantastical and Fun!!!
