It is probably custom-made.The dark cherry burst coloring and the poplar burl wood grain, known as "eye poplar," give it a solid look. The Java's true value is in the way it is designed to evoke a traditional jazz bass, even though it is a 24-fret instrument. Most brands have tried, but failed, to create a 24-fret jazz bass, and this is a miraculous design that barely managed to avoid failure. That is what makes it Java. The strangely processed 6-point bolt-on heel treatment can be understood as an emphasis on expressing this part, which naturally becomes long, without making it seem stretched out. If the corners here were rounded, the jazz bass-like feel would disappear immediately... In that sense, the JJ pickup layout is naturally more "JH-like," but this model dares to challenge the JH in that respect. In a normal layout, the mini switch is used to switch between active and passive, but in this model it switches between single and humbucking, making this model active only. The knobs have been replaced with genuine upgrades. (A standard metal dome knob is also included.)Apart from some minor scuffs from slapping, the condition is excellent. All adjustments work properly.Even if the music is quite hard, there are many cases where the bass is surprisingly traditional, and this model seems to be able to play an active role in such situations. It's a 5-string that is both a jazz bass and a Stingray.
