For those not familiar with Maxwell Toys, these were copies of various British toy makers, (mainly Matchbox & Corgi) made in India by Maxwell Co. in Calcutta. (Kolkata today). These models are highly collectible, (I have several hundred, see photo in my store) and prized by collectors. This model is that of a B.O.A.C. Airlines Passenger coach and is blue in color with a white roof and white interior. The model is in outstanding nearest to mint-condition with no touch-up or replacement parts whatsoever. Original plastic high speed wheels with simulated spoked spin freely on straight axles. Beautiful bright blue lower exterior with a white upper body and a pink base plate. Perfect windows, interior, and decals. As typical with these models, the paint work is not perfect, however this is one of the best examples are there are no issues as seen in the photos. The original box is in outstanding condition with beautiful full color illustrations on all four sides. It is also complete (no missing flaps) and with only the slightest amount of crushing. It does have the correct box end number corresponding to the model. A great box for a great model. The reason for this sale is that aside from reducing my entire model collection, I am also reducing my Maxwell Toys collection by selling duplicates such as this model. Thus, a great opportunity for the true collector to acquire an original and rare Maxwell Toy model in its proper and original box. This model will not disappoint the discriminate collector.
