Description: This is a matted print of a Blue Wing Teal Hen from Pine Beach, N. J. It is signed by the artist, Arthur Nevin in pencil below the image, and dated 1940. (We believe the date may be when the decoy was created.) It is numbered 41/150. It was originally a companion etching to a Drake decoy by the same carver so it was once part of a matched pair. The Drake's location is unknown to us but possibly still displayed in some collection. The print is in perfect condition. The mat is okay but a new owner likely would want to have it re-matted and framed. Mr. Nevin is well known for his etchings of classic decoy pairs which were limited to 150 and included the drake and hen if they existed. (His etchings of Geese are not of pairs.) He was born in 1929 so possibly still is alive and active, but we are unable to find any recent information about him. We have a few Nevin etchings and treasure them. They are a nice addition to a decoy collection of any size and value. We offer this etching in hopes the owner of the matching drake may wish to re-unite the pair. Or anyone else who enjoys Nevin etchings. Pricing is a guess so we invite your offer. We
