Attractively bound in half-leather with marbled boards, edges and endpapers. Gilt lettering and decoration to spine. Leather and boards minimally worn, mostly around extremities. Corners bumped. To this date, an impressive copy that would grace any shelf without a need for restoration. Marbled edges minimally faded. Marbled endpapers with ex-library sticker to front. Pencil inscriptions to front; could be easily erased. Some notes in pen to endsheet and page B on volume one. Minor amount of foxing within the book, which is impressive considering its age. Some spotting and marking throughout, with signs of previous use, including some small page tears (without any loss). Pages are tightly bound with none of them loose. All content is clean and legible. All plates are present. A wonderful set for its age and a rather rare one.
