Description: Very rare massive Aurora NC Megalodon shark tooth. Recovered from the famous Lee Creek phosphate mine in Aurora NC. This mine has been closed to collectors since 2008. Aurora NC fossil shark teeth are highly prized by collectors due to their unique colors and excellent preservation. Obviously incomplete tooth. Solid root with some loss on labial side. Visible bourlette and glossy enamel. Excellent serrations with a few nicks and a cool wrinkled edge near root. Solid, thick and heavy. Beautiful Aurora NC colors! Measures approximately 5.60" long (and 2.5" at the midpoint of the root width)... This tooth was probably 5" WIDE !!! No repairs. See photos for condition.
