He looks as if there were once feathers at the top and were later removed. Self-Standing hand carvingfrom the 1980s This tall hand-carved African figure is 16" tall, 3" wide at the shoulders, and standing on a base that is 2.25" x 1.75"Dark stained and polished, with a darker espresso-brown color on the base, his shield, and his head piece. Steel wrapping in 3 sections around his headpiece, and around his neck. He's wearing beading made of blue striped white beads on his wrists, ankles, and around his torso. The statue is not marked.There's some remnants on the headpiece that look as if it once had feathers attached, but I'm not sure. Beautiful condition with no breaks or cracks, or oxidation to the metal.Condition notes: Very Good+ estate condition with no breaks or missing areas.
