Description: This is a rare February 9th, 1942 "Playgoer" playbill from the two-week, Pre-Broadway engagement of the HAGAR WILDE and DALE EUNSON play "GUEST IN THE HOUSE" at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (The production would open February 24th, 1942 at the Plymouth Theatre in New York City and close July 4th, 1942 after 153 performances.) ..... The ensemble cast included LOUISE CAMPBELL, JOAN SPENCER, HILDRED PRICE, WALTER BECK, KATHERINE EMMET, PERT KELTON, WILLIAM PRINCE, LEON AMES, OSCAR STERLING, MARY ANDERSON, RICHARD BARBEE, HELEN STEWART, FRIEDA ALTMAN and SULLY MICHAELS (replaced out-of-town by ROBERT BRETON) ..... CREDITS: Book by HAGAR WILDE and DALE EUNSON based on a story by KATHERINE ALBERT; Sets designed by RAYMOND SOVEY; Directed by REGINALD DENHAM; Produced by STEPHEN AMES and PAUL AMES ..... The playbill also includes the credits for the National Tour engagement of the OLE OLSEN and CHIC JOHNSON "Screamlined" Revue "HELLZAPOPPIN" at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia.
