Description: Martha Kelly Shooting Star Pottery 4" Studio art vase. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs (minor imperfections seem to be from manufacturing process) - (PLEASE SEE PHOTOS). Measurments: Approx 4"H x 2 3/4"W(base) x 1 3/4"W(top) Brighten up any room with one of her beautiful handmade pieces from AZ. This vase is signed and marked 11, she usually dates her work so this is probably a 2011 piece. Martha was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. It was a month-long clay work workshop in Greenwich Village when she was sixteen that began her long journey into the world of clay. In the late seventies, she studied and became an apprentice potter to Barbara Clark at the Cascabell Clayworks outside of Benson, Arizona. Not long after, she moved to the small town of Patagonia where she opened her studio, Shooting Star Pottery.
