Marble's Safety Axe Co. (MSA Co) Gladstone, Mich Early 1911 Folding Fish Knife

Description: This is another great item from a group of very old gun catalogs and other shooting related things, some dating back over 100 years, a virtual time capsule, that had been in storage for decades that I will be listing in the coming weeks. Please take a look at my other auctions for more great items. Here is a very nice antique original example of the Marbles Safety Fishing Knife circa 1911-43. This knife is in remarkable condition and shows very little actual use with all joints still tight and zero wobble or play anywhere. The handles are German Silver with steel inserts at blade end, and marked “MSA Co.” on one, and “SAFETY” on the other as shown. The 4-7/8-inch blade has the “MARBLE” mark stamped on blade tang. Original blade polish lines still strongly present, and blade edge appears to be original and unsharpened. The blade has some tiny dark spots at the extreme sharp edge and light patina as shown. There are some hard to see scratches on the blade near the edge. The knife shows age and very light use overall with spots, scratches and signs of age overall. Overall length of 8-1/2” when open.
