MARBLEHEAD POTTERY, HANGING BLUE GRAY PLANTER, VASE, HTF COLOR & FORM, NICE~~~

Description: For auction is a lovely piece of art pottery made by Marblehead Pottery of Marblehead, Mass. This piece of art pottery has eluded me for many years. I have a hanging planter with the original chain. The planter vase measures 5 1/2" in diameter, outside the handle measurement and is 3 1/2" tall or deep. When the chains are attached it hangs down approximately 17" The planter vase displays a conical acorn shape. It has indented band at the top. It is further accented with 3 applied handles in that resemble small ears. These handles are close to allow for the hooks to hold the pot evenly. The planter vase is done in a not so commonly found matte glaze that is a soft blue/ gray in color. The inside of the planter shows a lilac to off white for the interior waterproofing glaze. This planter is considered to be excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The only issue is a few glaze misses near 2 of the handles that expose the red clay underneath. Marblehead Pottery used red clay in their making of pottery. The planter is not signed as it the case with this style of vase. It more than likely has a paper label at one time. This is a well documented form in the Marblehead Pottery catalog of shapes. This is an adorable piece of art pottery and would compliment any Marblehead or matte Pottery collection. Those of you who collect Marblehead Pottery and want a lovely example do not let this one slip by you. This would look just wonderful in that Stickley, Mission style arts home hanging with a plant inside. This piece was made circa 1904-1915. Marblehead Pottery was established in 1904 by Dr. Herbert J. Hall as a Studio Art Pottery in Marblehead, Massachusetts using the art and technique of ceramics manufacturing and decorating as a rehabilitation and therapeutic aid to local sanitarium patients at Hall's Devereux Mansion Sanitarium. Marblehead Pottery stopped producing Art Pottery in 1936. Marblehead Pottery was a small Pottery Company never employing more than 6 workers. Their Pottery is considered somewhat scare as compared to their Contemporaries of the day. PLEASE READ BELOW I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
