Description: MAKE OFFER 1906 Hunter Tuerk Ceiling Fan Completely Refurbished & Guaranteed for Life-USA Made to last These sell for $ 4000 at Texas Ceiling Fans Older than any person on this planet Earth. With a weight about 50 LBS it is about 50% heavier than the Hunter Cast Iron Originals made in the 80s & 90s. It puts out 35% more air than the Hunter Originals. I measured it on my fan meter (not CFM) shows 540 and the cheap Hunter China fans of today that show only 325. It is even better than the very popular U.S. Hunter Original fans sold in the 1990's that show 400. Just an estimate, but if the Hunter Originals were rated at 7500 CFM this fan would be rated at over 10000 CFM but there were no CFM ratings in 1911. The medium speed on this fan will move about as much air as a high speed on a modern fan drawing the same 100 watts as an cheap Energy Star rated China fan. What is different is the output on high, the high speed will move twice the air and draw just 175 watts. The video and photos above is a GLOSS black finish, here is another video of a SEMI-GLOSS of a second fan we are offering, left click to highlight, then right click to go to or open page. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ty0zBpsqh0c Perfect for a home built from 1880 to 1920 as this would have been the original fan installed, assuming they had electricity installed. Also great for high ceiling homes with large rooms where a powerful fan is required. Perhaps the most common use is for the Made in America, Lifetime Guaranteed and here is a 117 year old powerful fan to prove it - type of person. Just how many other useful mechanical items that are up to modern standards over 100 years old can you think of? There are a few out there like the Ford Model "A" but you find them in museums, not on modern highways. $ 100 discount offered for naming any mechanical item over 100 years old that is even close to modern standards. Houses and furniture do not count as they are not mechanical items. Over 40 hours in restoration work rewiring, relaminating coils & refinishing. The paint & blades are finished with a clear coat for protection and beauty. The finish & relaminating is so good, It can even stand damp rated porch areas with moisture (but not direct rainfall). We have two fans done in black. The the hanging fan photos are done in gloss with outdoor lighting, the disassembled photos are in semi-gloss done with indoor lighting. Plus we have three more black textured finishes mentioned below. The last three photos show how much larger the Original 1906 Tuerk armature was than the later 1910 Tuerk and the C17 that followed it. This motor has so much power you could easily change out the Hunter 60" blades, while it slows the fan just a bit, it spreads out the breeze area a couple more feet. The top will be labeled with the name of the new owner and we will guarantee it for their lifetime. Included is a downrod length of your choice in black from 3 inches (for low 8 ft ceilings to keep fan blades over 7 feet) to 4 feet. The three downrods pictured show the three slightly different optional black textured finishes. Hunter offered the textured in colors from the factory in later years, likewise we have three similar options. The top sample is a Hammered Satin with light texture, the middle is medium semi gloss black Hammered with medium texture, and the bottom is Gloss Textured Metallic with a heavier texture and subtle sparkle finish. Wiring is set up for a adjustable speed on / off wall switch as the original style bottom switch is not connected. Several extra cost options available including brass blade arms, brass bottom plate & oil cup, brass canopy, downrod. Can also be fitted with 4 brass light stems with individual light switches & tulip glass shades that extend out from the bottom oil bearing cup, just like the original factory option. (see additional photos for your choice). The shorter the shade, the more the light bulb will be exposed. In order to operate lights independently of fan, it requires two black (hot) & one white wire in ceiling junction box. If you have only one black and white wire in your box and you want lighting added, it requires the optional original speed switch and speed coil installation or add another hot wire . Price for an electrician adding a second black "hot" is close to adding the original switch & speed coil (not cheap). Adding an additional black "hot" wire to your junction box, is the preferable option to constantly using a hundred year switch every time you use the fan. Also note using the original switch & speed coil provides only high, medium high and medium. In the days before air conditioning, a low speed option was considered useless. Some collectors want the best of both worlds by using both, a wall mounted speed on/off switch AND install the original speed switch / speed coil too. By simply leaving the original fan mounted switch on high, then adjusting speed, on/off with the wall mounted switch. Available with the adapt-air reversible blade brackets to allow upward wind direction in the winter to circulate the warmer air from the ceiling throughout the room if desired. They have the same oil bath bearing system as all the original Hunters made since 1906. Using just 2 oz of oil, they can run for 10 to 15 years without the need of adding but perhaps 1 oz of oil. They will start making a slight humming noise when low, but nothing to worry about, they have a long grace period. Some owners will make a small label on the wall switch to check oil every decade starting in 2030. Go to you tube and you can see how easy it is to do. These fans have a few details that are best discussed before purchasing, see the last photo to do that.
