Description: *NOTE TO EBAY - THESE BOXES ARE EMPTY AND DO NOT CONTAIN ANY RESTRICTED AMMUNITION COMPONENTS*Up for your consideration is a set of six empty reproduction M1911 .45 ACP 20 round ammunition cartons, with one FRANKFORD ARSENAL (F A) label, one REMINGTON-UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE COMPANY (REM-UMC) label, one PETERS CARTRIDGE COMPANY (PCCO) label, one MAXIM MUNITIONS CORPORATION (MAXIM US) label, one UNITED STATES CARTRIDGE COMPANY (USCC) label, and one WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS COMPANY (WRA) label. Model 1911 ball rounds were first manufactured at Frankford Arsenal starting in August 1911, with contract manufacturing continuing with the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. starting in December 1912. Another early contract was given to the Remington Union Metallic Cartridge Co., with those rounds being delivered by April 1912. During 1913 additional contracts were given to the Peters Cartridge Co. and the United States Cartridge Co. Those initial contract rounds were used for testing new pistols made under contract by Colt. Later, due to the increased needs during World War I, contracts for the Model 1911 ball cartridge were given to the Maxim Munitions Corp., Peters Cartridge Co., Remington-UMC Cartridge Co., United States Cartridge Co., Winchester Repeating Arms Co., and the Pan American Munitions Corp. Frankford Arsenal remained the primary supplier, while faulty manufacturing limited Maxim Munitions deliveries, faulty primers halted shipments from U.S. Cartridge Co., and Pan American Munitions failed to deliver any finished rounds at all.Each "Buy It Now" single purchase is for six unassembled cartons with dividers and one of each of the six different labels.
