Description: I'm offering a number of old baseball photos and other collectibles that I purchased recently. This is an M114 of Cecil Travis. It hasn't been trimmed down and is in very good condition. On the right side in the white frame, there is a wrinkle or almost a wet spot. Offers are more than welcome. Baseball Magazine, published from 1907 to 1957, was the dominant sports publication of its time. Beginning in 1910, the magazine issued unique and distinctive premiums to readers who chose to subscribe. These mini-posters showcased the greatest players of the time and were printed on glossy, high-quality paper. The early versions of these premiums measured approximately 9 1/2" x 18" and are designated as M113 in hobby catalogs. After about 1916, the size was standardized at 9 1/2" x 12" and is labeled as M114. The set is known for its sepia-toned photos and the wide white border around them. Overall, about 500 different photos were issued over a period spanning nearly 50 years, and if minor variations in the captions are counted, the number swells to almost twice that total. The photos issued from 1954 to 1957 reflect the magazine's declining years, are very rare, and are notable for having "Washington D.C." as a copyright caption instead of the more common "New York." These pieces remain highly collectible and popular.
