Description: This larger sized Lucas driving/fog lamp was used on the more expensive British cars such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Jaguar and I suspect this one came off either a Bentley or a Rolls-Royce. It is beautifully preserved and was probably on a car for a short while. These are difficult to find as opposed to the smaller Lucas lamps. To find a larger S.F.T.700S in this condition is unheard of in my experience. Frankly, it is the nicest original Lucas lamp I have ever seen that was not New Old Stock and in its original Lucas box. These S.F.T.700S lamps have gone through a few generational changes over the years and this one is the last iteration of those. The date stamp of 5/64 shows it is the last of the line of this lamp that started in 1949. Everything seems intact and, while it has not been tested for lighting up, the wiring is like new and the interior is the same. I am pricing this because of it’s rare, pristine condition. As an example, the beautiful lamp retaining rim has a clamping screw that is virtually unmarked from flat screwdrivers. I really appreciate these kind of careful preservation features and I hope you do as well. Consequently this lamp needs no restoration costs spent on it before installing on the very nicest of vehicles. The chrome body has some hazing from polishing but from a short distance away it looks New Old Stock. It just may be N.O.S and has had a little "handling rash” but I cannot certify that.
